Following the inauguration ceremony of the new Ram Mandir on January 22nd, a significant influx of devotees journeyed to worship Ram Lalla. Approximately 6.5 million devotees visited the Ayodhya Ram Mandir to pay their respects after the inauguration. Alongside their prayers, devotees generously contributed donations to the temple, amounting to ₹25 crore within a month. To efficiently manage the substantial cash flow, the Ram Mandir installed automatic cash counting machines provided by the State Bank of India.
Collection of Donations in Ayodhya Ram Mandir Around 25 crore in a Month
The monetary donations represent only a fraction of the offerings. Devotees also present gold and silver ornaments, cheques, drafts, and cash contributions, with no online transactions included in the count. The offerings extend to silver and gold statues of Ram Lalla, which find a revered place in the sanctum of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. However, the Ram Mandir Trust exclusively accepts jewelry, utensils, and materials crafted from gold and silver.
As the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami approaches, an estimated 5 million devotees are anticipated to converge in Ayodhya for the celebrations. In preparation, the Ram Mandir Trust has established computerized counters for issuing receipts and installed additional donation boxes within the temple premises. Moreover, plans are underway to construct a fully equipped counting room to handle the donations more effectively.
In a gesture of reverence, the trustees of the Ram Mandir Trust have resolved to deliver all gold, silver, and other precious materials received as gifts to the Government of India for melting and maintenance. An agreement has been formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India to oversee the donations.
The State Bank of India assumes full responsibility for collecting and depositing contributions, donations, checks, drafts, and cash, ensuring their secure transfer to the bank. Operational activities have commenced, with staff deployment and cash tallies conducted twice daily across two shifts. As the devotion and generosity of devotees continue to enrich the Ram Mandir, meticulous measures ensure the efficient management and stewardship of their offerings.
